Arrogance and Ignorance, a deadly mix

Interesting article by Joe Scarborough in The Washington Post, “Trump’s ignorance has created an international crisis.” In it, Scarborough argues that Trump is, in one way, like the late General Douglas MacArthur. Both the General and the president are famed for their boundless self-confidence, not so say arrogance.

The difference, though, is that MacArthur was a skilled tactician who knew his military history. Trump, by contrast, is just arrogant.

The combination of ignorance and egotism has been deadly in the past, and it may well be so again.
